
BEST are delighted to announce that they have been shortlisted for the 2009 UK Broker Awards. This was within the Technology Award category for eBEST, their new online policy administration and claims system for schools.
eBEST was rolled out to schools in early 2009. At this time the system was available to all schools who purchased or renewed a BEST Staff Absence Insurance policy. Initial figures indicate that BEST have already converted over 25% of their eligible client base onto the new system. Over 400 schools are now using the new system and BEST have had many reports that schools consider it a vast improvement on the previous system.

This gives them information at their fingertips and enables BEST to increase efficiency and service levels.
Patricia Williams, School Clerk at St Illtyd’s RC Primary School in Merthyr Tydfil gave her feedback of eBEST:
“I found the system to be very user-friendly with easy, precise instructions to follow. Our policy could be available at all times giving me the flexibility of working from home and it was very easy to input data and also to look back on history of staff members and also to continue and end claims.”
During development, BEST’s trials in schools confirmed that the system is easy to use without training. However, there is an extensive and easy to use “Help” section within the system to support users. Schools can, of course, still pick up the phone to the BEST Client Liaison team for any help they need, whether it’s with the system itself or just with their policy. eBEST ensures that both BEST and the school have access to up-to-date accurate information, which helps them deliver the best possible service.
eBEST operates directly over the internet; schools do not need any specialist software or training to run the system. When schools complete the online registration process we provide them with a ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’. This ensures that only authorised individuals at each school can access potentially sensitive information.
Adjustments are notified with immediate effect. eBEST interfaces directly with their main back office policy management system and their claims management provider BEST Claims Ltd, ensuring they can expedite the payment of claims.
eBEST has improved efficiency for schools and key stakeholders whilst also achieving cost savings for Capita Specialist Insurance Solutions. BEST aim to move 78% of Staff Absence Insurance policyholders on to the eBEST system by the end of 2009.
