The Birmingham Bursars’ Group (BBG) was originally formed at a meeting late in 1999, to provide local support for Bursars, who can feel isolated and alone in their own school environment. The group meet on a termly basis at a central venue and invite a series of speakers from the educational financial sector to update the group on the issues of the day. Meetings also provide wonderful opportunities for members to meet and network with like minded colleagues, to support and help each other.
Helped in recent times by the launch of their own group website, membership has steadily grown from an initial fifty members to BBG’s current membership which is well in excess of two hundred. They are now the largest Bursar group in the country apart from the National Association.
BEST have sponsored Birmingham Bursars’ Group since February 2010. We sponsor the BBG website with its online forum and we annually sponsor and attend BBG events. We continue to develop our relationship with BBG so that we can offer insurance solutions to their members.
