We offer a comprehensive policy which provides a daily benefit payment for each day of absence once the excess has been exceeded. Our product is flexible; you can select an excess and tailor the cover to meet the individual needs of your school. You can choose:
- The categories of staff you would like to insure
- The daily benefit you would like to receive for each staff category
- The length of the excess for each staff category (The excess is the period before benefit payments will start and you can choose an excess period from 0-25 days)
- The maximum benefit period for each staff category and each incidence of absence (up to 365 days)
- The level of stress cover required (schools can choose to cover the full benefit period, limit cover to 30 days only or take no cover)
- Whether you wish to receive benefit payments for maternity, paternity and adoption leave
Our policy covers:
- All absences as a result of accident or illness*
- Comprehensive stress related illnesses cover
- Both work and home related stress including anxiety, depression, bereavement, and chronic fatigue. You can also choose to limit or exclude this cover from your policy
- Pregnancy related illnesses up to four weeks prior to the expected date of confinement
- Absence as a result of attending jury service. The daily benefit is payable for the full benefit period your school selects
- Phased returns for the full benefit period. Phasing a return to work can sometimes prevent longer term absence through a premature return to full time working.
- Our policy allows for phased returns for a period of up to two years
We provide:
- Lump sum benefits for accidents causing death or permanent total disablement
- Cover options for maternity, paternity and adoption leave
- Continuity of cover at every renewal. Unlike many other providers we do not offer annual contracts which means we continue to pay ongoing claims at each renewal
- An orthopaedic rehabilitation service
- A stress counselling, medical and tax advice helpline service
*standard policy exclusions apply
